World heart Summit 2009
First World Health Summit took place in Berlin
The first World Health Summit took place from October 14 – 18, 2009 in Berlin under the heading “The Evolution of Medicine”. International leaders from politics, industry and the scientific community met in Berlin to discuss urgent aspects of global health. The World Health Summit was also the first event in a year of celebrations to mark the 300th anniversary of the Charité hospital in 2010.

Improving patient safety and information to patients in Europe

Bayer has conducted a preliminary review of the observational study entitled “Mortality Associated with Aprotinin During 5 Years Following Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery” by Mangano et al. as well as the editorial by T. Bruce Ferguson, Jr., MD from the East Carolina University, Greenville, scheduled for publication on February 7, 2007 in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) regarding long-term mortality rates in coronary artery bypass graft surgery patients including those treated with aprotinin.
